LOVE / Shadow revisits the word LOVE through sculptural form, light and shadow. The physical form creates a second, changing image on the wall, allowing the work to exist simultaneously as an object and as its projected shadow.
The work continues my long-standing relationship with the word LOVE, first explored through my 2015 bronze sculpture. In this later work, I became interested in how the same form could be transformed through light, and how a solid object could create an image that is temporary, shifting, and dependent on its surroundings.
The relationship between the sculpture and its shadow becomes part of the work itself, encouraging the viewer to look beyond the physical object and consider how meaning can change through perception, space, and light.
